| Beryl is an ore of beryllium as well as a gem stone. The crystal structure of beryl is comprised of sixfold rings of tetrahedra, and its shape is hexagonal. It can commonly be found in a variety of colors, though it can also be found (more rarely) in colorless form. Aquamarine is light blue or green; emerald is deep green; morganite or rose beryl is pink to deep rose; red beryl is a darker red in color; and golden beryl (or heliodor) is golden-yellow in color.
