Subcategories

Agate
There are many different kinds of agate throughout the globe. Although agate actually (technically) belongs in the quartz family, we have broken it out for ease of reference. Agate is generally banded with different colors. Our agate mineral specimens are natural, and have not been dyed. Please see individual retail mineral specimens for specific details.
Amazonite
Amazonite is a green variety of microcline that is popular for ornamental purposes. Metaphysically, amazonite is a receptive energy used to combat risk and destructive tendencies, and to ensure success. Given as a gift, amazonite signifies the gift giver's wish for success and shared joy in a venture or in life. Please see individual retail mineral specimens for specific details. Note: We also have retail mineral specimen amazonite spheres in stock, which can be found listed separately under "Spheres".
Amethyst
Part of the quartz family, amethyst is one of the most widely recognized and popular minerals today. We carry many natural amethyst retail mineral specimens from around the globe. Metaphysically, amethyst creates spiritual peace, and is used to combat nightmares and insomnia. It promotes emotional and physical healing. Combined with deep rhythmic breathing, amethyst is believed to deepen the meditative state. Please see individual retail mineral specimens for specific details.
Aragonite
Aragonite is chemically the same as calcite, but is less common and crystallizes in the orthorhombic system. It is slightly harder and heavier than calcite (H. - 3.5, Sp. Gr. - 2.9). Metaphysically, aragonite allows the user to become centered and alleviates rage, anger and stress. It is also used to combat chills and normalize circulation in extremities. Please see our individual aragonite retail mineral specimen descriptions for specific details.
Azurite
Azurite is a copper-rich mineral that generally can be found with malachite, though azurite forms crystals more often than malachite does. Azurite is named for its color, which is deep blue, or azure blue. Azurite occurs in smooth or irregular masses in the upper levels of mines. H. - 3.5-4; Sp. Gr. - 3.7-4. Metaphysically, azurite increases psychic awareness and promotes healing. Placed beneath your pillow, this mineral will metaphysically enhance prophetic dreams and will bring answers to important questions in your life to surface. Please see our individual azurite retail mineral specimens for specifics pertaining to each specimen.
Barite
Barite is a sulfate of barium, a silvery metal. It is classified as a nonmetallic because it is rarely a source of the metal, but is widely used otherwise. Barite occurs in many ways. Occasionally, it can be found as large transparent or translucent crystals; sometimes as crystalline vein fillings, with fluorite or calcite, or with metallic ores. Small rose-shaped concretions are found in the sands of Oklahoma in the U.S. Barite is a fairly soft (H 2.5 to 3.5) but heavy (Sp. Gr. 4.5) mineral. Metaphysically, barite balances the yin-yang and male/female. It is especially useful for those who are out of balance between body and mind, or for those who have difficulty dealing with gender-based issues. It simultaneously works on upper and lower chakras, bringing feelings of comfort to the solar plexus and enabling the user to release conflicts that may polarize them to one side or another. Please see our individual barite retail mineral specimens for specifics pertaining to each specimen.
Beryl
Beryl is an ore of beryllium as well as a gem stone. The crystal structure of beryl is comprised of sixfold rings of tetrahedra, and its shape is hexagonal. It can commonly be found in a variety of colors, though it can also be found (more rarely) in colorless form. Aquamarine is light blue or green; emerald is deep green; morganite or rose beryl is pink to deep rose; red beryl is a darker red in color; and golden beryl (or heliodor) is golden-yellow in color. (H. 7.5-8, Sp. Gr. about 2.7) Please see our individual retail mineral specimen listings for specific details.
Carnelian
Carnelian, a red-colored variety of chalcedony, is a stone of courage. Metaphysically, it can be used to dispel negativity and doubt, and to increase confidence. Worn during sleep, or placed under the pillow at night, it will strengthen astral ties and decrease nightmares. Please see individual retail mineral specimens for specific details. Note: We also carry carnelian sphere retail mineral specimens, listed separately under "Spheres".
Carrollite
Carrollite is a cobalt ore mineral that is light to steel gray in color that forms octahedral crystals with a metallic luster. Carrollite hydrothermally occurs in ore veins, usually accompanied by chalcopyrite, linneite, and other minerals. H. - 4.5-5.5; Sp. Gr. - 4.8. Metaphysically, carrollite is a grounding stone that dispels fear. Please see individual retail mineral specimen listings for specific details.
Carved Minerals
There are many different carved retail mineral specimens that can be found here. All of these retail mineral specimens have different metaphysical properties, and the carved shapes we carry are not commonly found elsewhere. The pieces you see are the pieces you will actually purchase, so rest assured you'll know that you'll be getting exactly what you wanted! If you're looking for a particular retail mineral specimen animal but don't see it listed, chances are we have it in stock, it just hasn't made it on the site yet. Contact us and we'd be happy to check our stock, provide you pictures and work with you!
Celestite
Beautiful crystals of celestite are found in association with sulfur in Sicily, Italy, and near Mahajanga, in Madagascar. Metaphysically, celestite promotes compassion for others, the earth and other creatures, and is used to calm the spirit. It removes stress and alleviates headaches, and is also believed to assist in achieving astral travel. Please see our individual celestite retail mineral specimens for specific details. Note: We also carry celestite sphere retail mineral specimens, listed separately under "Spheres".
Chrysocolla
Chrysocolla is a copper mineral, and is found in veins and masses with quartz in most copper mines. Its chief value is as a gem when rich in quartz and even-colored. H. 2-4, Sp. Gr. 2. Metaphysically, chrysocolla is a stone of wisdom. Please see our individual chrysocolla retail mineral specimens for details. Note: We also have beautiful mineral specimen chrysocolla spheres, listed separately under "Spheres".
Diopside
Diopside is a rock-forming mineral, associated with plagioclase, grossular and epidote, that occurs in metamorphic deposits of copper and chromium. Well formed crystals are relatively rare, especially gemmy green chrome diopside crystals. These diopside crystals are of exceptional quality, and come from Afghanistan. Please see our individual diopside retail mineral specimens for specific details.
Fluorite
Fluorite is a most attractive mineral of varied colors including white, yellow, red, blue, green, brown, black and violet. It can also be colorless. It can be transparent to translucent or opaque. H - 4, Sp. Gr. - 3.2. Fluorite is used to produce a fluid slag in steel making and in smelting ores. It is also used in making high-test gasoline, Freon, and many other chemical products. Often fluorescent in ultraviolet light, fluorite is also used in special optics. Please see our individual retail mineral fluorite specimens for specific details.
Fossils
This is where you'll find us offering retail mineral specimens such as ammonites and other fossils. Though they're not technically minerals, we've grouped them in under this retail mineral specimens category for ease of locating them.
Garnet
Garnets are a close-knit family of silicate minerals with many common characteristics. They all form crystals in the isometric system, usually with 12 or 24 sides. Chemically, garnets contain the elements calcium, magnesium, iron and aluminum, combined with silicon and oxygen. Other, less common metals may also occur. Please see our individual garnet retail mineral specimens for specific details.
Girasol
Although Girasol is technically Opaline Quartz and, therefore, should be placed within the "Quartz" category, we have broken it out for ease of finding it. H. - 5-6; Sp. G. - 2.0-2.2. Metaphysically, girasol is a stone of gentle but powerful energy that can enhance and clarify feelings (especially those connected to love and passion), and allows the bearer to look deep within themself for true feelings. Girasol is an excellent mineral tool for visualization, dream paths, and guided direction of energy (such as Reiki). Girasol metaphysically enhances communication and will help the user to speak thoughts that otherwise might be difficult to express. It enhances creativity in artists and business people, and it is a powerful healing stone that firmly yet gently enhances healing of spiritual, emotional and physical wounds. Girasol's unique capability allows it to connect to a user's energy, cleanse it and circulate it so that self-healing becomes possible and the user is less dependent on outside energy stimulation. Girasol supports specific healing processes for diabetes, immune system imbalances, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Girasol is not recommended for crystal layouts, but rather it is recommended that the stone be held by the user to establish the energy connection. This stone is commonly used by healers prior to a healing session to encourage energy flow and healing in clients who are particularly blocked. It is also used effectively in distance healing techniques such as those applied by Reiki practitioners. Please see individual retail mineral specimens for specific details.
Jasper
Jasper is an opaque quartz that is usually red, yellow, or brown, or a mixture of these colors. Jasper is sometimes banded, and may also sometimes grade into chert. Please see our individual jasper retail mineral specimens for specific details. Note: We also carry jasper spheres, listed separately under "Spheres".
Kyanite
Kyanite (formerly known as disthene or cyanite) is usually found in schists and gneisses. The white to blue-gray or black crystals are long and blade-like, and the blue color has variable shades and intensity. Their luster is glassy to pearly. The black crystals grow in formations that have the appearance of wings. H - 4-5 along the crystal axis, but 7.0 across; Sp. Gr. - 3.6. Metaphysically, Kyanite assists in the release of negative feelings (anger, frustration, fear, etc.) in the user and dispels that energy once released. This mineral never needs clearing or cleansing, and dispels confusion from emotional and/or intellectual conflict, balancing yin-yang. These kyanite retail mineral specimens promote glandular and lymphatic healing when used between the heart and naval chakra. Note: We also carry kyanite massage wands listed separately under "Massage Wands".
Labradorite
Plagioclase feldspars are found in nearly all igneous rocks and in rocks formed from them. Labradorite is an iridescent blue plagioclase feldspar used in ornament and decoration. Please see our individual labradorite retail mineral specimens for specific details.
Lapis Lazuli
Lapis lazuli is predominantly synonymous with lazurite; the name is also used for a mixture of lazurite with minor amounts of other minerals including pyrite. The color is typically azure-blue, sometimes greenish-blue, and varies in intensity. Lazurite has, from the earliest times, been prized as material for gemstones, artisan objects, etc. and held high monetary and religious value for the ancient egyptians. Please see our individual retail mineral specimens listings for specific details.
Lepidolite
Lepidolite is a lithium mica with potassium and flourine, and is quite variable in composition. It is an ore of the light metal lithium, and its color is lilac or pink; rarely it is colorless, grey or yellow. It has a pearly luster, and is transparent to translucent. Lepidolite is a characteristic mineral in granite pegmatites, often in association with other lithium bearing minerals such as tourmaline or spodumene. H. - about 3; Sp. Gr. - about 2.8. Metaphysically, this receptive stone promotes peace and calm. Used under the pillow at night, it defeats nightmares and promotes restful slumber. Please see individual retail mineral specimen listings for specific details. We also offer fine Lepidolite spheres in various sizes that can be found under the separate heading of "Spheres".

Even if you're not into giving or receiving massages (shame on you), these retail mineral massage wand specimens are beautiful to behold, and an asset to any collection! Be careful of the points on some of these wands, as they could most definitely cause unintended harm in the wrong hands!
Petrified Wood
As a result of hot, silica-bearing waters, buried wood is gradually replaced by agate or opal which permeates the wood in a process called petrifaction. This forms petrified, or fossilized, wood. The replacement of the wood may be so minute and complete that even the details of cellular structure are preserved. Please see individual retail mineral specimens for specific details.
Quartz
Quartz comes in many varieties and encompasses a wide range of specimens. Though quartz technically covers varieties such as rock crystal, citrine, smoky citrine, morion, amethyst, chrysophase, jasper, chalcedony, agate, onyx, sardonyx, aventurine, heliotrope, petrified wood and the like, we have separated some of it out for ease of reference. Please see individual retail mineral specimens for specific details. Please also check our separate categories "Spheres", "Carved Minerals" and "Phalluses" for more quartz specimens.
Septerye
Septerye formed between 50 to 70 million years ago. Variable in color, texture and origin, septerye consists mainly of the minerals calcite, aragonite and limestone. Both plant and animal life, directly and indirectly, contribute to making this intriguing mineral. The decomposition of ammonites and dead sea life, along with million-year-old mud cracks and a unique and complex natural balance, contributes to the very intriguing appearance of septerye. Septerye is often referred to as "Septarian", which somes from the Latin word "septem" (meaning seven) because the sediment (or mud) that formed around the calcite had a tendency to crack in seven points in every direction, creating the distinctive pattern this mineral exhibits. Please see our individual septerye retail mineral specimens for specific details. Note: We also carry septerye retail mineral specimen spheres listed separately under "Spheres."
Spheres
We carry assorted sizes of spheres and balls of a multitude of minerals from around the globe, and they can all be found here. Please see our individual retail mineral specimen descriptions for specific details and corresponding metaphysical properties.
Stilbite
Stilbite is a common mineral in cavities in basalts, where it is commonly found in association with heulandite and other zeolites. Stilbite often occurs in pearly, sheaflike masses of twin crystals. Please see our individual stilbite retail mineral specimen descriptions for specific details.
Tourmaline
Tourmaline is a silicate of aluminum with boron and several other metals. It is occasionally abundant with mica and feldspars in granitic rocks. Tourmaline is mostly black, with other colors forming gems. We currently have a limited amount of superior gem-quality Elbaite, verdelite variety, of the tourmaline group from Paprok, Afghanistan. It is also referred to as Green Tourmaline. Some of the crystals are bicolored (green and clear), while others contain trace amounts of white albite and pinkish elbaite. These are truly beautiful specimens! H - 7, Sp. Gr. - 3. Please see individual green tourmaline retail mineral specimen descriptions for specific details. We also have some superb large black schorl tourmaline crystals. Please see individual mineral specimen descriptions for details.
Tumbled Stone
Here is where you'll find small to medium sized polished tumbled mineral specimen stones from around the globe for sale. If you've seen us at some of the shows, you know we seem to have far more tumbled stones than appear to be on our website. Sorry about that, especially to our out-of-state customers who haven't had the opportunity to see us in person but have had to drop us a stone request list instead. We sincerely appreciate your patience and your great e-mails! The construction that has been going on here has REALLY slowed down our normal groove, and has played real havic with our photography booth! We're almost done though, and will be continually adding more tumbled stones and mineral specimens to the site, so check back with us often.
